How did the Lord save you?
I am very thankful to have been born into and raised in a godly Christian family. When I was about five, I responded to the message of the gospel and made a decision to receive Christ as my savior. Although I did not fully understand all of the theological ramifications of what this meant and what I was doing, even at that young age I knew I had sin and needed forgiveness. I believe God honored that child like faith and kept a hold of me. When I was sixteen a series of events led me to a crossroads where I felt God was calling me to turn my future completely over to Him. I followed and I am still following.

Tell us about your spouse and kids
It’s really true that my wife is my best friend! We love spending time together doing almost anything. We are lifelong partners together in the gospel. We have six kids who also love Jesus. We are a loud family with lots of activity continuously swirling around our household. We love travel, the outdoors, the ocean and surfing and just being together. It gets pretty crazy around our household, but life is good. I love being with my family as wild and chaotic as it is!

I worked in aerospace as an engineer right out of college for five years while attending seminary and dating my wife. After we got married I worked as a Jr. High Pastor for two years. After graduating from Talbot, we move to Santa Cruz to work at a Christian camp. Then we moved to New Zealand to work at Christian camps there. 28 years ago we moved to North County where I took a job as a pastor where I led the Young Adults ministry, the Small Groups ministry and preached regularly. 22 years ago we left that church to plant The Fields and have been there ever since. I also teach at Biola University and Talbot School of Theology. We also started the Acts 29 Network in Australia and New Zealand where I served as the director for many years. After raising up a local director, we continue to serve the churches there, many of which we have helped to plant.

What is your passion in ministry?
Seeing people grow in knowing, loving, following and serving Jesus. Love teaching teaching the Bible. Love seeing people come to faith. Love dreaming about what we could do. Love starting new things!
What do you love to do in your free time?
Family, travel, surfing, spending time with good friends, dating my wife, coaching (soccer and surfing), anything outdoors.

How did the Lord save you?
I came to understand my need for a Savior when I was four years old and recognized that Jesus was the only one who could save me. The Gospel captured my heart at a young age, and its truth has guided and sustained me throughout my life.

I have a B.A. in History from San Diego State University and a Master of Divinity from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.
Tell us about your spouse and kids
My wife, Cara, and I have been married for 25 years, and apart from Jesus, she has been the greatest influence on my life. She is a phenomenal fifth-grade teacher who invests deeply in her students and their growth. We have two wonderful children. Our daughter, Bella, is entering her senior year of college, and our son, Jay, is beginning his freshman year. Watching them grow into the people God has created them to be has been one of the greatest joys of our lives.

Before entering vocational ministry, I worked in the business world as a recruiter and manager. It was a valuable opportunity to learn about people, leadership, and how teams work together effectively. About 14 years ago, I transitioned into vocational ministry at Emmanuel Faith Community Church, where I served in a variety of pastoral roles before spending my final three years as Executive Pastor. My time there was a tremendous blessing, providing countless opportunities to grow, learn, and serve alongside an incredible church family.
How long have you been part of The Fields and what is your role and ministry?
We have been attending since May 2026. What a great church! I am the Executive Pastor role.
What is your passion in ministry?
I love watching God work in people’s hearts and transform their lives. Seeing people use their God-given gifts to serve others and watching Jesus draw people to Himself never gets old. Kids ministry is probably the most fun place to see all of that happen, as children experience God’s love and begin to follow Him in simple and genuine ways.
What do you love to do in your free time?
I love backpacking and camping, playing games, surfing going for walks and finding new coffee shops.

How did the Lord save you?
I wasn’t raised in the church and wasn’t taught much about Jesus growing up. During my high school years, several friends had invited me to bible studies and shared the good news of the Gospel with me. There wasn’t any particular crisis in life that led me to Him, other than God’s grace helping me to see my desperate need for His grace. I was 16 years old when I came to faith by God’s grace and the work of His Spirit.

I met my bride, Bethany, in Jacksonville, FL in 2004 and we tied the knot in 2006. We have three amazing kids (Faith, Josiah (JJ) and Reagan) that continue to blow us away with their unique giftings and passions. Obviously, we think they’re all brilliant. Faith puts her head down and charges at the challenges in front of her, JJ enjoys the many friendships that he has developed within our various communities, and Reagan loves to throw a party or put on a show. All of us have so many unique giftings, passions, strengths and weaknesses, and with that come ample opportunities to bring the Gospel to bear on how we walk in those things redemptively.

I heard the gospel at a young age but had some confusion about the gospel. It wasn’t till college when I met some college students involved with Cru that I began to understand the depth of the Gospel. Through connecting with some men in a small group the Gospel took root!

I have my bachelor and master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois. In addition I have a Master’s of Biblical studies from Moody Bible Institute.

I have a fantastic wife, Diane, who is my greatest partner in ministry! We have 5 awesome kids that range in age from 12-22. They have been the hugest blessing of my life!

I have been a part of The Fields church family for 20 years! I was in person for the first 10 years of the church’s life. Then have lived at a distance, in Florida, but remained connected through frequent visits and opportunities to teach and I serve as Elder emeritus.

I love seeing men and women live lives of surrender as well as Godly marriages and families!
What do you love to do in your free time?
I love to play the piano and sing, home improvement projects, and almost any activity that gets me outside!

How did the Lord save you?
The Lord blessed me with faithful parents who pointed me to Christ from a very early age. I grew up hearing the gospel and being part of a church that faithfully taught God’s Word. Through the course of my upbringing, the Lord showed me my need for Jesus and His saving grace. Looking back, I’m grateful for His faithfulness every step of the way. As He continues to work in my life, I’m increasingly amazed by His grace, patience, and kindness toward me.

Tell us about your spouse and kids
Katie and I met while serving as short-term missionaries in Malawi, Africa, and were married overlooking the Flower Fields in Carlsbad in 2013. Katie is a teacher in the Solana Beach School District. She is remarkably intelligent and kind, and she continues to set my standard of beauty. More importantly, she is an incredible wife and an amazing mom to our three kids: Grace, Colton, and Caleb. Grace loves the arts and enjoys reading, theater, ballet, piano, and singing. Colton is passionate about sports, especially baseball and running. Caleb is our resident comedian and would happily spend every day at Legoland if we let him.

I’ve spent most of my career serving in Christian humanitarian nonprofits focused on serving the global Church and caring for vulnerable children in communities around the world. I’ve served with Feed My Starving Children, Convoy of Hope, Heart for Africa, and currently work with Feed the Hungry. Along the way, the Lord has given me opportunities to lead teams, advocate for the vulnerable, encourage global ministry, and serve the local church.

Our family started attending The Fields when we moved to North County in 2021.
What is your role and ministry at The Fields?
I serve as a pastor/elder on our Central Leadership Team. My wife and I lead a community group in our home and have the privilege of helping coach and encourage other community group leaders. I’m also blessed to serve on the music ministry team, where I often have the opportunity to lead worship on Sunday mornings.

I love being in relationship with people to help them see the beauty of the gospel and grow in their love for Christ. I’m passionate about equipping believers for ministry and the extending the invitation that Christ gives us to be a part of His Body through the Church.
What do you love to do in your free time?
You’ll usually find me spending time with my family enjoying the beautiful area we live in. I’m passionate about traveling and cross-cultural experiences. Now we have been married for quite some time and are blessed to be raising 3 sons.

I’ve worked in ministry off and on since I was in High School. I helped lead youth and children’s ministry when I was in High School and college. Post college I became a special education teacher. I taught students with moderate to severe disabilities for 7 years before having my first son. Now I’m a stay at home/homeschooling mom to 3 boys.

13 Years I have been a part of The Fields. I have worked at The Fields for almost 2 years as a Children’s Director.
What is your passion in ministry?
Encouraging parents as they seek to disciple their children at home and training equipping our volunteers to make the gospel accessible to our children on a weekly basis.
What do you love to do in your free time?
I love to take hikes/walks and just be outside. I love to draw, paint, and be creative.

I grew up as a church kid and had a radical encounter with Jesus during the Covid-19 pandemic. I have just begun here at The Fields and am thrilled to be serving as the Associate Worship Director! My hope is that the musical worship at The Fields is filled with the presence of the Holy Spirit and the truth of God’s word, and that with honesty and excellence we can glorify God and advance the gospel through our singing together!
What is your passion in ministry?
My passion in ministry is seeing art break down barriers in people’s hearts so that they can understand the all consuming love of Christ. I take great joy in seeing people’s lives transformed through the gospel and in creative expression that glorifies God and showcases his character.

I love reading, exercising, and spending time with people I love! I also really enjoy music, especially songwriting and playing with my band.

I grew up in the church and was baptized in middle school, but it wasn’t until the end of high school that I truly surrendered my life to the Lord. During that season, my faith became personal. I worked with my husband for over 30 years managing the office for our underground utility company. Along the way I helped my daughter set up and run a boutique for 2 years and then develop, manufacture and sell a children’s clothing line for an additional 2 years. After that, I nannied for 8 years for a family with 3 children. Most recently I was also privileged to care for my dad during the last 2.5 years of his life. Caring for my dad was a joy and I will never regret it!
How long have you been part of The Fields and what is your role and ministry?
5 years. I love children and serve at the Fields in the 1 year old class. I’m eager to take on of this role as Executive Assistant to David. I pray that I will be a real help!
What is your passion in ministry?
I love to be a help to others and try to be a good listener.
What do you love to do in your free time?
I love to take walks with my sweet dog… and friends too! I love the beach, family time, friends, cooking and learning to make all things sourdough! Last but not least, I love spending time with all of my grandchildren and all of the kids in my life that I consider family!

Tell us about your spouse and kids
Dave and his wife Debbie – married since 1992 and going strong – have three children: Aimee, Adam and Mfundo (whom they adopted from South Africa in 2009), and 3 granddaughters: Ava, Kinsley and Aliyah.
Dave and Debbie unexpectedly lost their oldest son, Adam, in June 2022 to a brain aneurysm. As Adam was a young youth pastor, married and with a child about to be born, this loss has affected many people. As part of their journey with grief, Dave and Debbie have started the Adam Keehn Foundation to encourage and inspire young youth pastors to lead students to the Gospel of Jesus by providing Ministry Development Coaching to help a new youth pastor share the Gospel of Jesus – tools that would help the “next Adam”. You can read about this foundation at adamkeehnfoundation.com. Together, they have written about their journey with grief and seek to help churches care for grieving families. Their book, “Living in the Shadow of Grief” will be published in March 2026.

Dr. Dave Keehn, commonly referred to as Dave or DDK by his students, pursues his call to ministry as both a pastor and professor, utilizing his gifts of teaching and leadership. Dave joined the full-time faculty at BIOLA University in the Fall of 2009 and now serves as the chair of the undergraduate Christian Ministries department in the Biblical and Theological Division of Talbot Seminary.
Dave served in youth ministry for 29 years in two churches (one large and one smaller). Dave most recently served as the Teaching Pastor at the Cornerstone Community Church in San Clemente, CA. His passion is to develop church leaders for future generations to follow.

I had been raised in a Christian home. But, my personal relationship with the Lord didn’t begin until High School. I attended a winter camp my freshman year and heard the Lord ask me, “Will it be their faith or YOUR faith.” I knew I wanted a personal connection with my Savior.

Our family moved to Carlsbad in July 2019 to be part of The Fields.

Helping people apply deep biblical and theological truth to everyday life!
What do you love to do in your free time?
Spending time with friends ands family, reading old theology books, riding mountain bikes.
